This is a rare and highly collectible Esterbrook Pens antique advertising display case. The beautiful handcrafted box dates back to 1910s, possibly late 1800s.
It was originally used by retailers to showcase a variety of Esterbrook pen nibs on a counter display, and today the multiple compartments could be repurposed for all sorts of practical storage around the home. There is also a drawer at the top of the wooden case that is a useful and discrete storage space if the piece is to be hung on a wall.
The Esterbrook Pen Company, founded in 1858 was one of the largest and most prominent pen manufacturers in the United States. Take a look through the images to see a vintage advertisement for retailers, showcasing how these display cases were used.
The antique display case has a small chip in the wood on the front, but is generally in excellent condition and a remarkable piece of history. Please take a look at the pictures carefully.
