Rich in texture and character, this antique hand-carved wooden dish is a wonderfully sculptural piece with a beautifully simple, rustic form. Raised on a small foot and finished with distinctive integrated handles, it has the look of a traditional trencher or serving vessel that has been shaped and worn by generations of use.

The warm honeyed tones of the bowl contrast beautifully with the darker patina of the handles, while historic wear, age-related marks and old woodworm holes tell the story of its long life. The woodworm is historic and has been treated as a precaution for complete peace of mind.

Today, it makes a striking decorative object; perfect styled on a coffee table, console or kitchen shelf, either displayed on its own or filled with seasonal foliage, dried flowers or collected treasures.
