A beautifully aged wooden letterpress tray from the historic Deberny & Cie type foundry of Paris, stamped along the central divider. Deberny & Cie were one of the most important European type foundries of the 19th and early 20th centuries, supplying printers with metal type and equipment.
Originally used in a traditional printing press to organise individual metal letters, this tray features dozens of small compartments designed to keep each character in its place. Today, these charming sections make it perfect for displaying small treasures - dried flowers, vintage finds, or tiny curiosities.
The wood has developed a warm, timeworn patina, with visible marks and tonal variations that tell the story of years spent in a working print shop. Whether leaned on a shelf or hung on the wall, it creates a striking piece of decorative storage full of history and character.
