A traditional English stoneware serving pot by Pearson’s of Chesterfield, stamped to the base and made in England.
Finished in a deep treacle brown glaze with a delicate dotted band around the shoulder and lid, this 2 pint pot has that classic country kitchen feel - solid, warm and quietly decorative. The twin side handles and domed lid give it a beautiful silhouette, whether styled on open shelving or brought to the table filled with soup or stew.
The glaze has a lovely richness to it, catching the light with subtle speckling and tonal variation that only comes with older stoneware pieces.
Condition: Light surface wear consistent with age with small glaze imperfections and firing marks typical of the period. Fine age-related line visible to the underside of the lid, not affecting use. Structurally sound and displays beautifully - please look at the photos carefully.
Approx dimensions: Height 16cm x Width 19cm
