A beautiful slice of Japanese craftsmanship, this vintage soroban (abacus) is as charming as it is fascinating. Handcrafted in Japan from honey-toned wood (likely paulownia or hinoki), it features the traditional 1:4 bead arrangement used for centuries in Japanese calculation.

The wood has aged gracefully to a warm golden-brown, with smooth, tactile beads and subtle variations that speak to its handmade origins. The back still bears faint, hand-brushed markings - likely the signature of its owner or maker - adding an extra layer of intrigue and history.

The vintage abacus is in excellent vintage condition with light, age-appropriate wear.
