An original vintage wooden cigar mould by Karl Hart Schwetzingen, with stamped maker's marks and the numbers 77 and 7818 still visible on the wood.
Originally used in cigar production, the two halves would have been pressed together to shape the cigars, with the corresponding carved channels forming each individual mould. Years of use have left the wood with a wonderfully worn surface, rich variation in tone, old markings and traces of faded colour.
Although originally one functional piece, we particularly love the two halves styled separately alongside one another, allowing the contrasting surfaces and carved detail to be seen. Their long, sculptural form makes them an unusual decorative piece for leaning on a console, shelf or mantel, or displaying vertically on a wall.
A lovely piece of old industrial craftsmanship that brings texture, history and warmth to an interior.
